About
“My work is my prayer.” Marc Chagall
As an artist, I am drawn to color and imagery. I allow inspiration to come through me by stilling myself enough to hear and capture that which is trying to reveal itself. This process is gradual, raw, and intuitive, as I paint layer after layer of color, stepping away when I sense the need to wait for the next influx of guidance. Lately, it takes a month or so for the whole story of the painting to reveal itself. I have learned to be patient, which still takes great effort at times, and honor the process.
This approach applies to how I live my life and guide others as well. It involves getting quiet, opening my heart, taking small steps, being gentle with myself and others, and persevering. I take time to meditate, do yoga, hike, garden, cook, love my family, help others, and play–all which inform and expand my work and self.
I am sensitive and I long to understand the complexities of the mind and the heart. Through study and observation of their subtle and not so subtle ways, I hope to understand the deep truths that guide us toward wholeness, compassion, and true happiness.
